XY Wellness Diet - Foods to Avoid Like the Plague

As described in the XY Wellness Diet and the Two Week Reset Diet, the following is a list of foods that you want to avoid like The Plague:

Avoid All

  • Grains, flours, breads, cereals, and crackers
  • Sugar, honey, syrup, and artificial sweeteners (such as aspartame, sucralose, saccharine, etc.) 
  • Baked goods, sweetened beverages, sweets, fried food, and processed food
  • Fruit


Meats and Poultry

  • Conventional, non-organic beef, chicken, or turkey
  • Pork
  • Ham
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Hot dogs
  • Smoked meats
  • Any other meats that contain nitrites

Fish and Shellfish

  • Atlantic salmon
  • Atlantic halibut
  • Gulf oysters
  • Pike
  • Sea bass
  • Shark
  • Swordfish
  • Tilefish (golden snapper)
  • Tuna (steaks and canned albacore)
  • White croaker
  • Walleye
  • Largemouth bass
  • Grouper
  • Marlin
  • Wild sturgeon

Dairy and Eggs

  • Cow’s milk
  • Cheese
  • Non-organic eggs
  • Sweetened yogurt

Vegetables

  • Beets
  • Yams
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Corn and corn products
  • White potatoes
  • Conventional, non-organic vegetables (unless otherwise noted)
  • Any vegetables that are fried, creamed, or in casseroles

Legumes 

  • Unfermented soy products (tofu, soy protein isolates, textured soy protein, soy cheese, soy milk, hydrolyzed soy protein)
  • Baked beans
  • Broad beans

Nuts and Seeds

  • Peanuts
  • Peanut butter

Beverages

  • Cow’s milk
  • Fruit juice
  • Unfiltered or bottled water
  • Alcohol of any kind
  • Soda or diet soda
  • Coffee or tea with cream or sugar

Oils

  • Cod liver oil
  • Vegetable oil

Salad Dressings

  • Russian dressing
  • Blue cheese
  • Thousand Island
  • Italian (if it contains sugar)
  • French
  • Any creamy dressings (Caesar, Ranch, Peppercorn Parmesan, etc.)

Sauces

  • Barbecue sauce
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Any sauces that contain sugar, heavy cream, wheat, or vinegar

Spices and Condiments

  • Ketchup
  • MSG (monosodium glutamate)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Soy sauce (unless it’s wheat free)
  • Vinegar
  • Sucanat
  • Rice syrup
